Commanders Sign Stefon Diggs to One-Year Deal as WR2 Opposite McLaurin

What happened

The Washington Commanders agreed to terms with free-agent wide receiver Stefon Diggs on a one-year deal worth up to $12 million, according to multiple reports including ESPN’s Adam Schefter, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, and The Athletic’s Nicki Jhabvala. The Maryland native and four-time Pro Bowler becomes the clear WR2 opposite Terry McLaurin after leading the Patriots with 85 receptions for 1,013 yards and four touchdowns in 2025. The Commanders formally announced the signing shortly after the agreement was reached.

Fantasy impact

Diggs lands in a favorable situation with an ascending quarterback and a team that struggled with receiver depth last season. He profiles as a high-floor WR2/flex with weekly upside in PPR formats and should see consistent targets in an offense that needs a reliable complementary piece to McLaurin.
